Thattekkadu Bird Sanctuary

The Thattekkad Bird Sanctuary, covering an area of barely 25 km², and located about 12 km from Kothamangalam, was the first bird sanctuary in Kerala.

Bhoothathankettu Dam & Reserve Forest

Bhoothathankettu which means 'monster fort' is a dam and tourist spot in Ernakulam district in Kerala. It is a perfect gateway for nauture lovers in Kerala and is about 10 km away from the town of Kothamangalam.

Bhoothathankettu Boating

Boating on beautiful and pristine Periyar river is one of the main tourist attractions in Bhoothathankettu reservoir. House boats, small wooden and fiber boats, speed boats and pedal boats are available for hourly rent. Trained boat drivers and guides are accompanied with the travelers.

Cheeyappara Waterfalls

The Cheeyappara Waterfall is a great place for trekking. The waterfall cascades down in seven steps. It is on the Kochi - Madurai Highway, between Neriamangalam and Adimali.

Inchathotty Suspension Bridge

Inchathotty Suspension bridge is the longest hanging bridge in Kerala with a length of 183 meters and 4-foot width. Located in Inchathotty village near Neriamangalam, it is a favorite destination of tourists from even distant places.

Valara waterfalls

Valara & Cheyyappara waterfalls are one among the best trekking locations in Idukki district. Valara features a chain of waterfalls falling from a height of about 1000 feet and provide a magnificent view.

Kodanad Elephant Training Centre

Riverside sanctuary for wild elephants with safari tours, interactive feedings & observation points. This place is completely inside jungl. The fresh air, nice walk way and river side give us more relaxing experience.

Abhayaranyam Zoo

A small zoo in the forest focused on rescuing & rehabilitating elephants & spotted deer. It is a best place for family outing. The Elephant training centre is the most attraction here.
